APPLE. INSPIRE MINDS
Jennifer Sharman – Director of Knowledge Services
Working with Kings’ IT Team, our engineers deployed secure VPN connections to our Sydney lab and one of our two national configuration centres. Engineers provisioned virtual servers to replicate Kings’ Jamf JSS servers, and provided a login to our Zerotouch Virtual Sandbox. Using this Virtual Sandbox, staff at Kings were able to test their DEP deployment process on a virtual Macbook within our configuration centre, to ensure the deployment would be a success.
Working within our configuration centre, our engineers upgraded King’s new fleet to the latest MacOS and ran their DEP deployment through the replicated Jamf JSS. The Macbooks were asset tagged, and the serial and MAC address recorded. All of the associated packaging that normally ships with the Macbook was removed and recycled. The Macbooks were then packed into executive carry bags along with their power supply and USB-C adapters ready for immediate use. These bags were then packed into collapsible cardboard boxes and delivered to the school with staff and teacher names on each box. The deployment of the new fleet to teachers and staff was completed by the Kings IT team in minutes, rather than days.
Using our SchoolReady deployment services, the IT staff at Kings saved themselves countless hours, which were redirected into supporting their teaching staff and managing critical tasks.
